Carleen Sheehan

Bio

My work incorporates a range of media, including drawing, photography, and painting in both discrete and
hybrid forms.  It's primary focus is on the experience of contemporary space, with it's accelerated temporal shifts
and collaged eccentricities. Weather, as atmosphere, form, and effect, weaves through the images, while imposed
structures support and organize space. I work to create open-ended narratives of distilled chaos and spectacular
abundance, alluding to and underscoring the heightened impact of climate shifts on both the built and natural
world.  The space depicted is compressed yet floating, revealing itself by unfolding and unraveling, creating
connections and generating content.  The work relies on the inter-connectedness of visual forms and processes
across categories and disciplines, and on the descriptive qualities inherent to different levels of information.
